The top ten benefits of CBD Oil.

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is effective when it comes to treating many illnesses.

Indeed, the medicinal benefits of marijuana and its related compounds has been known about for thousands of years, even as far back as ancient Greece, and Egypt.
Fast forward a few thousand years and the therapeutic value of cannabinoids, such as CBD oil and its role in treating illnesses is still recognised.

In this article, we will discuss some of the top ten common diseases and conditions that CBD oil has been effective in treating.

1) Cancer

Now, first a little bit of a disclaimer. CBD oil is not as some would have you believe, a cure for cancer.

However, what it can do is assist suffers in their journey of recovery and help to prevent the cancer from getting any worse.

Indeed, various studies show that cannabinoids are effective in triggering cell death, through a mechanism called apoptosis and preventing metastasis (the spread of cancer cells).

It also stops cells from dividing and inhibits blood vessels from growing into new tumours, according to findings published by the journal Nature Reviews Cancer and the National Institutes of Health.
2) Heart disease

The effectiveness of CBD oil in reducing cell death, which contributes to heart attacks has been well documented. It also lowers inflammation and improves heart function, according to a study published in the NCBI journal.
3) Chronic pain

Research published in the NCBI journal (National Institutes of Health) shows that cannabinoids are effective in reducing pain that does not respond to conventional medical treatment.

This is because cannabinoids contain analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties that can help to soothe symptoms associated with illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and nerve damage.

It also relaxes the muscles, which helps to reduce cramps.
4) Obesity

By helping to reduce the blood sugar, CBD oil can help to lower BMI and aid weight control. It also regulates the endocannabinoid system – a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in the mammalian brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems that help to regulate weight gain.
5) Diabetes

Those with diabetes have higher fasting insulin levels and insulin resistance, as well as low levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).

However a study published in the American Journal of Medicine showed that CBD oil is effective in lowering fasting insulin levels, as well as reducing levels of insulin resistance and increasing levels of HDL-C.

Not only does this help to treat diabetes, it can also prevent the disease as well.

6) Depression

Depression is a condition that wrecks the lives of millions. Unfortunately, conventional antidepressants often take a long time to work and come with side-effects, one of which is suicidal thoughts!

However, CBD oil has been shown to boost the production of glutamate and serotonin in the body, which can help to significantly reduce depression and has a beneficial effect on the mood.
7) MS

There is also a lot of evidence which shows that CBD oil is effective in treating conditions associated with MS.

For example, CBD can be a useful aid when treating chronic pain, which is something that many MS patients suffer from.

CBD helps to prevent the degeneration of the nervous system by suppressing the effect of harmful fatty acids that cause our cells to degenerate.

8) Autoimmune disorders

CBD oil is also effective in treating a wide range of other autoimmune disorders in the body. Topical  treatments of CBD can help reduce brain inflammation associated with autoimmune disorders, that result in damage of the neurons’ fatty covering.

9) Epilepsy

A study led by Orrin Devinsky, a neurologist at New York University Langone Medical Center, published a study on cannabis-based drugs for treatment-resistant epilepsy in The Lancet Neurology.

The researchers treated 162 patients with an extract of 99 percent cannabidiol (CBD) and monitored them for 12 weeks. The results were that some patients experienced a decrease in epileptic seizures.

Separate research carried out by Chapman and his group at the University of Colorado revealed that 47 percent of patients whose families had moved to Colorado for cannabis-based epilepsy treatment reported improvement.

The results highlight the effectiveness in CBD reducing epileptic seizures.

10) Inflammation

One of the reasons CBD oil is so effective in treating a wide range of illnesses is because it can help to reduce inflammation – which is the cause of a wide range of illnesses in the body.

A study published in PubMed revealed that cannabinoids were very effective in treating inflammation by  upregulating T-regulatory cells (Tregs) as a way of suppressing inflammatory responses from the body.

Incidentally, the study also concluded that cannabinoids is effective in helping to treat the neuropathic pain associated with MS, and weakness in the body associated with HIV and nausea.
